Dreambuilders are a specific kind of person. You see the finish line before the first step is taken. You’re energized by the idea of building something, even when — especially when — it’s hard.
Most people around you don’t work that way. They need to see proof before they believe. They ask questions that sound like doubt but are really just how they process. They love you and still can’t fully see what you see.
Learning to love those people without needing them to be your hype team is one of the most important things you can do for your goals and your relationships.
What I’ve Learned About Sharing Your Vision
Not everyone gets the full vision. Not because you’re hiding anything — because not everyone has the context to hold it with you.
There are people in your life who get the milestone updates. “I launched.” “I hit the goal.” “We hit a thousand users.” Those are your safe relationships — people who love you and will celebrate with you even if they didn’t fully understand the journey.
Then there are the people who get the real thing. The messy middle. The doubt at 2am. The pivot. The “I don’t know if this is working.” Those people are rare. When you find them, protect that relationship.
How to Navigate It Without Losing Either
Stop trying to convert people who weren’t built to build. You can’t make someone a dreambuilder through enough explanation. It either lives in them or it doesn’t.
Find your people — the ones who are also building something and understand what that actually costs. Invest in those relationships. Build with them. Let them challenge you in the ways that make you better.
And give grace to the ones who love you but can’t see it yet. They’re not against you. They’re just not where you are. That’s okay. Keep going anyway.
